Recreational Vehicle Insurance
Get to know your Recreational Vehicle Insurance
An RV is a unique vehicle and unlike insurance for your car or truck, a typical auto policy just won’t cut it. RVs, camper trailers, motorhomes and fifth wheels are equal parts transport and home-away-from-home, which means you need double the protection.
Personal Property Coverage
Covers damage or theft of some personal belongings while in your RV.
24-Hour Roadside Assistance
If your RV breaks down and you need a jump-start or a tow, we won’t leave you stranded.
Loan or Lease Protection
In the event of a total loss, our policies can cover up to the total amount owed.
What Does Recreational Vehicle Insurance Cover?
A typical Motorhome Insurance policy provides the following coverages:
- Liability
- Collision
- Comprehensive (Fire, theft, vandalism, etc.)
- Personal Property
- Medical Payments
- Personal Injury Protection
Additional protection is also available. We offer total loss replacement, campsite liability, emergency expenses, higher liability limits and more. At Bancorp Insurance, we also offer full-timer liability, which serves as a Homeowners Insurance policy when your motorhome is parked and used as a permanent residence. If at any point your vehicle is moved into storage, we’ll allow you to suspend the parts of your policy that are only valid when your RV is on the road.

If you choose to insure your RV with an Auto Insurance policy only, you may be missing out on essential coverages. Here’s an example:
You’re spending the weekend camping at Crater Lake National Park. Your RV is parked at the campground when a tree branch falls on it. Not only does your RV sustain structural damage, but your personal belongings have also been affected. So you file a claim.
But there’s bad news.
An auto insurance policy places a lower cap on how much it will pay to fix your vehicle, and your belongings aren’t covered either. At Bancorp Insurance however, our RV Insurance is different. We offer specialized coverage that is designed to protect your investment. Here are a few more ways we can help you stay covered:

Situation 1
Let’s say you’re on a road trip and you’ve parked your RV for the night. In the course of the evening, you’ve made some new friends and invited them over for a cup of coffee. Little did you know, the floor in the kitchen area is a little wet and one of your new friends take a pretty hard fall. Lucky for you, you have Motorhome Insurance with vacation liability to protect you from a potentially costly lawsuit.
Situation 2
You drove all night to get to Yosemite for sunrise. Now that you’ve enjoyed the view, you’re ready to head out for a day exploring the park. But first, you work on getting camp set up for when you return. You attach your brand new hose to the camp water source and leave it while you go off on your adventures.
Uh-oh. While you were away that new hose sprung a leak and flooded your campsite and the neighbors’. They were not too happy to come back to a muddy mess. Not only that, but their tent, sleeping bags and food supplies are all wet and soggy. The camp host insists you pay for their night lodging at a nearby hotel, their dinner and breakfast the next morning, along with the dry cleaning for their sleeping bags and tent. Not to mention the lost income from the site rental.
RV Insurance will provide third party property damage coverage for what the broken hose caused to the other campers and the RV park owner.
