Step 1: Obtain Insurance and Bonds

Step 2: Complete Oregon’s Pre-License Training & Test
The State of Oregon has a specific set of requirements to obtain a CCB license. One of the first requirements is to take the pre-license training and pass the test. Click here to access the State of Oregon’s Pre-License Information.
Step 3: Register Your Business with the State or Oregon
Now that you have taken the pre-license training and passed your test, you will need to file and request an EIN Number from the IRS. Before you file, you need to consider what type of business structure you are starting. The type of business structure can have a huge impact on financial risk and taxes. Step 4: Obtain Certificates and Proof of Insurance and Bonds
If your Bancorp Insurance agent has not already provided you with a binder and certificates for your insurance coverage and any bonds, contact us now so you can proceed to step 5 to become an Oregon contractor.
Step 5: Complete an Oregon CCB Application
You’re almost there! The last steps to become an Oregon contractor are within reach.
Depending on the type of contracting you plan to be doing, you will need to complete one or both of the Oregon CCB applications for residential or commercial contractors.

Step 6: Submit Your Oregon Contractors License Application to the CCB
You made it! You’ve got your application complete, all the necessary paperwork to show proof of insurance and necessary bonds, as well as a check to pay for the fee. Now, it’s time to submit your Oregon Contractors License Application to the CCB.
When you submit your application to the address noted on the application, note that it must include:
- Your original bond (Do not submit separately)
- Insurance certificate (Do not submit separately)
- $325 fee for a two-year license (Visa, Mastercard, Discover or check)
